Why iPhone 6s is stil the BEST iPhone in 2017!

For all of you who is an Apple fanboy (kinda just like me, for now) you must have heard about the almighty 10th anniversary iPhone that is just around the corner along with the underrated iPhone 7s and 7s Plus. Folks started to name it which such names like iPhone X or iPhone 8 -Which is funny I think to release iPhone 7s and iPhone 8 at the same time-. Some of the fanboys are preparing their bucks to be slapped on Cook's face to get the iPhone 8. But some of them -and maybe me- are not going to spend money to get the newest iPhone yet. Even the 7s and 7s Plus. And what is the reason behind that decision? Because I'm now currently having the iPhone 6s which is not surprisingly still faster and better in many categories compare to the "green robot" even the flagships even though this year is gonna be its 2nd birthday. Here is why....

1. Performance and Specification

The 6s has an "s" which is sacred in the iPhones line. Just look like the iPhone 4s, it got the longest iOS support ever. And the 5s, it's still gonna get the latest iOS 11 which will be released with the iPhone 8/X. And for the 6s, of course it's still getting the iOS 11, and it could get more like iOS 12 or even iOS 13. And it's performance still the best and still holding up with the latest flagships except the iPhone 7 which is far more powerful. Talking about performance, it is not a doubt that the 6s can open any apps or HD games without issue. You can throw any app you want, as long as you are okay with the 4.7 inch screen, and run those apps with arrogance. I mean, with a confident that your 6s won't dissapoint you. 

We all now that we don't want to talk about specs if we are talking about iPhones. It always has the lower specs compare to others. But its price is also insanely "comparable" to the flagships. The 6s got the dual-core 1.85 Ghz A9 Processor and 2 GB or RAM which more than enough to run this machine with full power. If we dive deeper to the geeky stuff, the score of the Geekbench 4 for the single core still higher than most smartphones and the multi-core score still compete. Do you know how it feels when you geeky human being test your phone with Antutu benchmark and the video is just like stuttering? Try it on iPhone 6s. Fluid like a damn! And the benchmarks scores are like the pictures below. 

2. Display

The display is using the same philosophy as the specs which doesn't have the highest resolution but still very sharp. It uses the Retina Display technology so it's simply very beautiful. And you know that until now Apple doesn't put a higher resolution on it's regular iPhone update. Like the iPhone 8, the resolution is still the same. There is "only" a true tone display on iPhone 8 that most of the regular non-geeky human eyes won't notice. And even the iPhone SE has the lower resolution but people still love that little guy.

But hey! You know Apple right? "Who needs the highest resolution display on a smartphone when the "low" resolution display is already more than enough?" Y'know, a flying phone is good, but who needs it anyway?

3. Camera

The 12 MPx single back shooter on the iPhone 6s. It still the man's number one choice to snap a picture, well, occasionally. And if you think the f/2.2 aperture can still perform a good image under the low-light scenario, well, I can't say it's worst, but the newer yet younger flagships can perform better in term of translating a few lights that comes through the sensor. But for dynamic range and sharpness, hands down for the Apple products. It gives us the classic Apple yellowish true to life saturation and white balance that when people look at your unedited instagram photos, they are gonna be like "Hmm, this guy took pictures using an iPhone." 4. Experience

Don't even dare to compare iPhone's performance to other phones. Especially the specs. And the software update. And it's OS, which is iOS that makes an iPhone run very fast. And in this case with iPhone 6s, it runs smoothly on iOS 11 (after I updated it). Yes, a lot of bugs on iOS 11.0.0 which has been patched. It's a normal path for new OS to pet bugs.

I suggest you to update to the latest OS which is iOS 11.1 which will improve your iPhone (also the old one) like a champ. Apps run smoothly, seamless multitasking slightly better in term of changing app, home button and fingerprint sensor still work fast. There's nothing more you can ask.

5. Overall

Verdict, Wow! iPhone 6s is a good deal in late 2017 and early 2018. It checks every box. Performance, display, experience. Did I mention it still has the headphone jack? Yeah, screw you futuristic feature! We want a worth price to performance device!

But, But! There is always a drawback. If you can buy it directly from the Apple store, please kindly buy it there. Really I would do that if we have one in our country.
